ATS/ABCF Control

ABCF tm (Automatic Battery Capacity Failure)

Patent Registered Nr: P-00200700522

Goals

The Solution to Efficient Generator Fuel Consumption, maintain & monitor battery health

The Advantage

The advantages of ABCF are as follows:

  1. To efficient diesel generator fuel consumption for the Site or BTS which has poor quality Mains/PLN supply.
  2. To utilize battery health, maintain, and monitor battery condition.

The definitions of poor quality Mains/PLN are as follows:

  1. No Mains/PLN
  2. Frequent ON and OFF in short time period of time (10 minutes up to 2 hours) up to 5 times/day
  3. Frequent ON and OFF in long time period of time (2 hours up to 12 hours) up to 2 times/day.
  4. Voltage Ph-N <154 VAC or Ph-Ph <266 VAC (Indonesia Electricity Voltage System Only)
  5. 1 phase or 2 phase loss.

How it works

The starting sequence of generator does not depend on Mains fail, 1 or 2 phase loss, or Mains under voltage, but depends on Battery capacity condition and rectifier charging condition.

Start and Stop conditions:

  1. If  Mains/PLN OFF and the battery capacity is still in upper level, then the generator not start, but if battery capacity is under level then the generator will start. The level values are based on 'How full the battery is (in AH)' and battery level voltage.
  2. If Mains/PLN voltage drop in certain value but rectifier is still able to charge and supply load, then the generator not start.

 The Case

  • Most of Generator control will start Generator at three conditions:
    • Three Phase loss or Mains voltage = 0 VAC
    • One or Two Phase Loss
    • Mains Voltage drop below 70% of Nominal Value. Example: if voltage drop <154 VAC (70% x 220VAC), then controller will start Generator.
  • If such above conditions occurs in BTS, and operators using standard ATS/AMF, the Generator will start directly after the Mains/PLN phase loss or Voltage drop to 70% of nominal value. If the ATS/AMF Standard deployed in such condition, the generator will run everyday and need a lot of fuel consumption.
  • If using ABCF, the generator not directly start if Mains Phase loss, but wait until battery capacity down to certain value. Even in worst case the controller will not start generator when the Mains voltage down to 90 VAC where the rectifier is still able to charge battery and supply to load.

Value Added

  1. If NO Mains/PLN, the ABCF will automatically work as Charge/Discharge system mode.
  2. No need additional cost to equip BTS with battery monitoring system, ABCF provides it.
  3. Serial port RS232 ready for remote monitoring.
  4. Alarm dry contact ready for: System fail, Mains Fail, Generator Fail, Generator Run, Battery conditions 'Health' or 'Not Health'.
  5. Less labor cost to maintain generator.
